چکیده

To combat the threat of antimicrobial resistance, it is important to discover innovative and effective alternative antibacterial agents. Garlic has been recommended as a medicinal plant with qualities. Hence, we conducted this study evaluate activity ultrasonicated garlic extract against Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus sub. aureus, Streptococcus mutans, Poryphyromonas gingivalis. Aqueous was tested these strains, their quantified using both agar disk diffusion well methods; plate count technique used estimate total viable count. Moreover, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), microplate spectrophotometry were characterize nanoparticles. The results confirmed that all bacteria sensitive sonicated non-sonicated extracts. mutans most susceptible bacteria; on other hand, coli resistant bacteria. Furthermore, characterization prepared nanoparticles, showed presence organosulfur phenolic compounds, carboxyl groups, protein particles. Based obtained results, potent agent. It can come in handy while developing novel antibiotics have developed resistance.

Inhibition of mycobacteria by garlic extract (Allium sativum).

Thirty strains of mycobacteria, consisting of 17 species, were inhibited by various concentrations of garlic extract incorporated in Middlebrook 7H10 agar. The concentration required ranged from a low of 1.34 mg/ml to a high of 3.35 mg/ml of media. When there were multiple strains of a species, a mean inhibitory concentration was determined for that species. Six strains of Mycobacterium tubercu...
